the story behind 'drones'



it was a dream I had
3 nights ago


giant drones flying over a forest fire
only they were just fanning the flames
taking pictures like photo-ops
for those flying them below
at a safe distance


waking at 3am ... wow - pitch black
youtube search - "drone, forest fire HD"
finding this stuff - sleeping a few more hours

drifting thinking

music - need music - next morning
thinking jazz, LA circa 1980-82
almost tribal - spooky machinery
with a female voice preferably
right - warsaw - what's this?

some vintage metheny and a quiet session 
with polish vocalist anna maria jopek
 (that went totally under the radar)
  I added some flute samples
and some simple EQ/automation
a little nip & tuck

it's the sound of angels 
hovering over trippy rhythms
blended w/the chaos

ok, for those of you out there
wondering if I'm beginning to lose it
ok, guilty pleasure

how did I get here?  ... don't ask
losing it?  ... maybe, just maybe

sometimes I see things, I shouldn't be seeing
thinking things, I shouldn't be thinking
doing things, I shouldn't be doing
but it's always been like that
ever since I can remember

getting to express it ... like this is a blast


I just found the sounds, then the pictures in youtube, joined them
and started remixing everything, together
in a semi-random fashion at first
forming a new picture
a few fine touches
the final buff

being able to scream in my dream
